The Kodagu Gowda Samaja, Mysore, was originally named as Kodagu Gowda sangh and took its birth because of the broader forethought of our elderly founders having less than 50 members in the year 2000. The dedicated efforts of past Presidents, Board of Directors, and the generous support of our members have played a key role in making Gowda Samaja one of the most respected organizations in Mysore. Initially the activities of Samaja were held at Kodagu Gowda Vidhya Sangha Hostel Jayalakshmipuram, Mysore. Later on Samaja's activities shifted to a new building in the year 2011 to foster the culture, language, education and tradition of the Kodagu Arebhashe Gowdas. In December 2023, the building has been augmented with a new hall on the second floor with modern facilities to cater the need for conducting cutural events with a small gathering of 150 to 200.Kodagu Gowda Samaja is a centre for promoting art, culture, education and tradition of not only Arebhashe Gowdas but also of local diverse communities including spiritual organisations and provides space for events mentioned in the coming pages.
